We started off the month of September with a reunion with Jacques and Sandee Everhart, our travel companions in
Alaska. They had returned to Ohio by way of Colorado, where they had some exciting adventures. Like us, they are
now involved in getting the Bounder scrubbed and cleaned. We think between us we brought about half the the Alaska
Highway home with us...the dirt is caked on the RV like cement. We're getting ready for our next trip - to the Bounders of
America Fall National Rally in Midland, MI. We will meet first with the Michigan-O-Bounders Chapter for several days to
organize the work schedule and make final preparations before the rally actually begins. We also got four new tires on
the Olds tow car...seems the steel mesh belting was showing through....guess it was time.
Meanwhile, Tom and his sister, Judy, are working on the project of bringing their parents back to live in Ohio. The
transfer of medical benefits from Florida requires lots of paperwork, and finding suitable living accomodations for both
of them has become quite an endeavor. We hope to get them settled again within a month or so.

On Thursday, September 6 Reid flew into Toledo from Colorado. On Friday, Ann, Matt and the girls drove up from
Marysville....and we had a housefull! We had a great time just visiting and watching the granddaughters play and
catching up on everyone's adventures over the last months. On Saturday Grandma and Grandpa took the
family to visit at the zoo. It's always more fun to see things through the eyes of little children! Reid attended his
10yr. class reunion from Springfield High School and had a good time meeting and greeting lots of old friends.
The weekend was over far too quickly and on Sunday Ann's family returned to Marysville and on Monday, after
having lunch with Mary's brother and mother, Reid flew back to Colorado. Little did he know that he was flying into a
storm of activity at the newspaper on Tuesday morning!

The events of September 11 changed our mood greatly. We became much more aware of events across our
country and beyond. Our outlook on the future has become tempered with many possibilities and concerns. We
pray for all of us that we'll "weather the storm" with confidence, pride and satisfaction in our country and its leaders.
On September 20 we drove the Bounder to Midland, Michigan and checked in at the Valley Plaza Resort. We
were camped with the "Michigan-O-Bounders" as we completed all the final details for the Bounders of America
Fall National Rally which our chapter hosted at the Midland County Fairgrounds September 26-30. Tom and I took
a side-trip by car on Saturday back to Marysville, OH for the 1st birthday celebration of our youngest granddaughter,
Merrick Ann. Early Monday morning the M.O.B. moved "en masse" to the fairgrounds and began setting up and
decorating the facilities. Our theme was "Happy 10th Birthday, B.O.A." and we had a great big, week-long
birthday party. The rally was a great success in spite of cold and rainy weather at the start. We had lots of great
workers in our chapter and wonderful people in about 160 coaches attending the event. Four coaches remained at
the fairgrounds on the final Sunday night (Sept. 30) to officially return keys and equipment on Monday morning.
